North Carolina Contractor License (NC) Seminars, Exams, Licensing
A general contractors license (residential or building construction) is required in North Carolina (NC) for projects that exceed $30,000. Any electrical, plumbing, and HVAC projects will also require a license. Applications can be obtained from the following boards: General Contractors by calling 1-919-571-4183; Electricians by calling 1-919-733-9042; plumbing, HVAC, and fuel piping by calling 1-919-875-3612. All examinations other than Electrical can be scheduled through PSI by calling 1-800-733-9267. For electrical examinations, contact Promissor at 1-800-204-6231.
