Requirements to Obtaining your License
- To qualify for the master's licensing exam you must work as a licensed journeyman for at least six months.
- To qualify for the journeyman's licensing exam you need to complete a Board-approved apprenticeship program which includes four years of work experience and four years of education.
- Must submit documentation on your experienc
Work that can be Done Under this License
- A Master Plumbing License covers unlimited plumbing work including sanitary drainage, water supply, storm drainage, and natural gas piping.
- A Journeyman Plumbing license covers unlimited plumbing work including sanitary drainage, water supply, storm drainage, and natural gas piping while under the supervision of a Master Plumber
Applying to get your License
It will cost you $25 to file an application for a plumbing license. The master license costs $125 and the journeyman license costs $60. A plumbing license is good for one year.

Exam Details
- 105 questions and a time limit of 4hrs (Master Exam)
- 75 questions and a time limit of 3hrs (Journeyman Exam)
- Exam requires a 70% to pass.
